We helped families in 2022 by:

  • Lowering personal property taxes by adjusting the credit on the first $20,000 of assessment to save the taxpayers over $12 million.

  • Helping business by lowering the Machinery and Tools tax five times since 2016 and raising the threshold for the Business Professional Occupation License 3 times since 2016.

  • Increasing public safety in personnel and funding annually.

  • Creating business-friendly opportunities with $190 million in new project announcements.

  • Giving Roanoke County Schools unprecedented funding for building a new CTE facility and two elementary schools to be mitigated/remodeled from the open-concept classrooms.

  • We will continue to expand broadband as we have with 2,002 new connections in unserved and underserved areas.

Metis Holdings redeveloped the former Allstate Building and has grown from a staff of 25 to more than 125 employees in the last 10 years. The new building provides an opportunity for the company to continue their growth in a highly visible, high demand corridor of Roanoke County.  Other confirmed tenants include: Lucas & Kite law firm, Vistar Children’s Eye Care Center, Vistar Corporate Offices, Fit Studio and an on-site café-style restaurant.
